Huawei and Zain KSA signed the MoU
Under the agreement, both companies will explore new avenues of cooperation to define a future-oriented network evolution path that follows the concept of “GUIDE to the Future Network”. GUIDE is a business blueprint that outlines the future evolution of end-to-end network elements from the core to transport and radio access, enhancing Zain KSA’s digital cloud-network infrastructure. The infrastructure will provide Zain’s customers with gigabit speeds and differentiated service experience, while reducing carban emissions, contributing to a green society. The signing of the MoU complements Zain KSA’s quality investments, the latest of which being the launching of Saudi Arabia’s first 5G Standalone network in February.
“Our efforts to drive forward digital transformation in the Kingdom have been enabled by pairing innovative technology investments with pioneering digital solutions, said Zain KSA’s CTO Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Mufadda, “Today, more than ever before, Zain KSA is progressing with its journey of empowering a digital society and pursuing the transition towards a digital economy, by supporting the Kingdom’s digital transformation strategy and in turn Saudi Vision 2030. Partnering with global tech leaders, including Huawei, we continue to enhance Zain KSA’s end-to-end network, based on our recently launched 5G Standalone network, to incubate a range of vertical services for industry digitalization.”
Zain KSA was recognized by umlaut, a network testing organization, as having the best 5G network in Riyadh, with the fastest speeds for both download and upload. A Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) report also ranks Zain KSA first in 5G coverage and speed in Riyadh. Zain KSA won Ookla’s Speedtest Award as the Fastest Fixed Network three consecutive times. Also, Zain KSA won the “Best 5G User Growth” award at the Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit 2021, cementing its position in building 5G networks, deepening innovative experiences, and developing 5G use cases and deploying them across the Kingdom.
